Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 at Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was the first to achieve a perfect 10 during an Olympic event. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci when she was six. She would later become the Romanian gymnastics coach. The first time she competed was at The National Junior Championships which she finished 13th in 1969. In the year 1970, she won. At her first international competition, which was an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1975, she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. In 1975, she took home 4 gold and 1 silver in her first senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. She was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympics. She also was the first female ever to remove the parallel bars using backwards double salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens she was performing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne is a United States citizen, born on the 6th of September 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol ventured into the entertainment business as a teenager. At the age of 13 Carol was an ice figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performances.
